The trip will take place during the first week of our winter break, making it the perfect time to travel and enjoy a cultural escape without missing any school. Trip #2: Haida Gwaii - Discover Haida Gwaii: A Journey Through Story, Land, and Culture***may long weekend 6-days***
This unforgettable experience invites students to explore one of the most remote and culturally rich regions of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Over five days in Haida Gwaii—the traditional territory of the Haida Nation—students will connect with the land, culture, and living history of the Haida people. Through visits to Old Massett Village, the Haida Heritage Centre, and Naikoon Provincial Park, participants will engage with local Elders, artists, and knowledge keepers. Hike iconic trails like Tow Hill, the Pesuta Shipwreck, and the Golden Spruce, and witness the natural beauty of windswept coastlines, ancient rainforests, and protected wildlife habitats. From traditional art workshops to a Haida feast and dance, this immersive journey offers students a chance to learn from Indigenous perspectives, reflect on cultural resilience, and deepen their relationship with the land.

TRIP # 3: Australia - mega Sports Tour - Spring Break
The 2026 SMUS Rugby (boys & girls) & Soccer (girls) Tour to Australia is a 15-day, 13-night educational and athletic journey through Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Wollongong or Canberra, and Sydney. Students will participate in four competitive matches against local school teams, with post-match socials to foster cultural exchange. Accommodations include a combination of billeting with host families and hotel stays, offering students an immersive experience of Australian life. The itinerary features iconic attractions such as Daisy Hill Koala Centre, Australia Zoo, and Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast, as well as a high-speed jet boat ride through Sydney Harbour. Athletes will also enjoy sightseeing at Bondi Beach, Manly, and the Sydney Opera House, with free time to explore local markets and coastal walks. The tour combines sport, travel, and cultural enrichment for a memorable and holistic experience in Australia. This MEGA tour is offered to current players, with tryouts in the fall to fill any necessary vacancies. This will be a memorable way to make sure our seasons start with success.

Then it’s off to the Galápagos, where you’ll walk among giant tortoises, snorkel with sea lions and tropical fish, visit pink flamingo habitats, and explore lava islets teeming with wildlife. Additionally we will hike to hidden beaches, relax on pristine shores, and dive into one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. Back on the mainland, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in vibrant culture—shop colorful markets in Otavalo, marvel at powerful waterfalls in Baños, and connect with indigenous communities in the Andes.
